The 2024 IMPLIED Photography Contest will provide an opportunity for photographers to showcase their best artistic nude photography with a chance to win a Luxury Photo Vacation to Bali! This will be the first annual contest presented by IMPLIED and Femme Nue Photo Retreats.

Bali (March 31-April 6, 2025)

From March 31-April 6, 2025, five photographers will be gathering in Bali for a week of creativity and connection.

These photographers will spend three nights at their first luxury location with one model lineup, before switching to spend three more nights at the second location with another set of globally acclaimed models!

How to enter

The focus of this contest is to recognize outstanding work in artistic nude photography.  Judging will involve consideration for several criteria to assess its quality and artistic merit. Here are some key aspects to consider:

1. Composition and Framing: Evaluate how the elements within the photograph are arranged. Is there a balance of visual elements? Does the composition draw the viewer's attention to the subject in a compelling way?
2. Lighting: Lighting plays a crucial role in nude photography. Assess how the light is used to highlight the subject's form, texture, and contours. Consider the use of shadows and highlights to create depth and mood.
3. Pose and Gesture: The pose of the model can convey emotion, narrative, and aesthetic appeal. Look for poses that are dynamic, expressive, and visually engaging. Consider how the pose interacts with the overall composition of the photograph.
4. Expression and Emotion: Evaluate the emotional impact of the photograph. Does the model convey a sense of vulnerability, strength, sensuality, or intimacy? Consider how the expression of the model enhances the narrative or mood of the image.
5. Technical Skill: Assess the technical proficiency of the photographer. Look for aspects such as sharpness, focus, and clarity. Consider the use of depth of field and other technical elements to enhance the visual impact of the photograph.
6. Context and Concept: Consider the conceptual framework within which the photograph operates. What is the photographer trying to communicate or evoke through the image? Is there a narrative, theme, or concept that adds depth and meaning to the photograph?
7. Artistic Intent and Originality: Assess the originality and creativity of the photographer's vision. Look for unique perspectives, innovative techniques, and artistic experimentation that set the photograph apart from others in the genre.
8. Viewer Response: Consider the emotional and intellectual response elicited from the viewer. Does the photograph provoke thought, challenge perceptions, or evoke a visceral reaction? Assess how effectively the photograph engages and resonates with its audience.
9. Overall Impact: Ultimately, judge the photograph based on its overall impact and effectiveness as a work of art. Consider how well it succeeds in communicating the artist's vision, eliciting an emotional response, and leaving a lasting impression on the viewer.

To enter the contest, participants may submit a portolio of their work to be reviewed by a panel of three judges from IMPLIED and Femme Nue Photo Retreats. Contestants will be judged by a combination of scores from community voting on the IMPLIED.VIP social media platform along with scores from the judges and personal interviews with the finalists. Entries will be accepted through July 31, 2024. Contestants who move on to the community voting phase will be announced by August 10, 2024. Community voting will run from that point through  August 31, 2024. Fiinal winner will be announced by September 30, 2024.

Along with the grand prize, finalists will be featured in a special edition of IMPIED Magazine devoted exclusively to contestants with additional prizes to be announced. 

Requirements:

1. Must be 18+ and a registered member of the www.implied.vip social media community.
2. Website: please provide link to online portfolio to be considered for review. 
3. Portfolio must contain 6-12 images for review.
4. All models must be age 18+ with releases available upon request.
5. Must not have attended a previous Femme Nue event.
